Phnom Penh (FN), July 10 - The U.S Embassy in Phnom Penh extended congratulations to Cambodia on the inscription of "Sambor Prei Kuk", as a UNESCO World Tangible Heritage Site.

"Congratulations Cambodia! On July 8, the UNESCO World Heritage Committee inscribed the Temple Zone of Sambor Prei Kuk, Archaeological Site of Ancient Ishanapura, onto the World Heritage List," according to the embassy's statement released on Monday.

"Sambor Prei Kuk is the third Cambodian site to receive World Heritage status, following Angkor and the Temple of Preah Vihear," the statement added.

A separate statement released by Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, revealed that Sambor Prei Kuk Resort was listed as a World Heritage by UNESCO on July 8 at the World Heritage Committee's 41st Summit in Krakow, Poland with the participation of 193 member countries.
