Phnom Penh (FN), October 31 - Former Cambodia National Rescue Party’s (CNRP) President, Sam Rainsy, bluntly claimed that Mao Monyvann, a senior official of the CNRP, had betrayed the party by following the order of Prime Minister Hun Sen, President of Cambodian People’s Party (CPP).

The accusation was made after CNRP lawmaker, Pol Ham and Mao Monyvann claimed that the Senate voter list made by senior leaders and Kem Sokha, president of CNRP, is in line with the law on political party.

"The one who follows the order of PM Hun Sen is Mao Monyvann. He has contacted other people because he declares that he is soon the leader of the CNRP, replacing Kem Sokha. This is not an acceptable action”, stated Sam Rainsy through a video clip from Rome, Italy posted on Facebook on Monday.

In the clip, Sam Rainsy also praised Kem Sokha that did not agree with the current political situation. He also called on CNRP officials who could not bear the political situation to flee abroad.

"Do not be misled by the psychological warfare of the CNRP. Who is the organizer of the list? Who makes decision? What is the procedure of matching Senate candidates? What is the NEC Procedure of the election? If you do not understand, do not say anything", Mao Monyvann wrote on his Facebook page on Monday in response to Sam Rainsy’s accusation.
