Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 21 - Chey Son, Secretary General of National Authority for Chemical Weapons (NACW) of the Ministry of Defense, said that NACW will cooperate with Cambodian Mine Action Center (CMAC) to resume the operations to remove U.S. chemical bombs in two weeks.

“At most in two more weeks, our experts will resume the removal of another U.S. chemical bomb with just approximately 300 meters from Koki Middle School which we have removed one bomb earlier around the area,” said Chey Son.

He added that the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) of the United Nations also responded to help Cambodia and would send their experts to cooperate with us in removing the bombs in Svay Rieng province.

To date, 22 more bombs were discovered in Cambodia. They are commonly known as Blister Agents and they contain chemicals such as Nitrogen Mustard that could cause abnormal diseases such as inflamed skin and shortness of breath.
