Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 22 – The Royal Government of Cambodia received more than $27 million grant from the Japanese government for schools construction in Preah Vihea, Pailin, and Mondulkiri provinces, and more than $13 million for environmental education in the Regional Teacher Training Centers.

Hidehisa Horinouchi, Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia, Heads of the Provincial Department of Education from Preah Vihea, Pailin, Mondulkiri, and Director of the Nature Center Risen organization, signed the agreements on Wednesday.

Hidehisa Horinouchi expressed his pleasure in celebrating the signing ceremony for the grant assistance project. He believed that this project will benefit Cambodian people and students in those three provinces, and further strengthening Cambodia-Japan relationship.

Heads of Provincial Department of Education from Preah Vihear, Pailin and Mondulkiri said that this aid contributed heavily to promoting education and providing knowledge to Cambodians especially those in rural areas. They added that this support portrays a strong commitment from the Japanese government and people towards Cambodia.
