Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 22 – The United States Embassy in Cambodia issued a press release on Wednesday announcing a $2 million, one-year grant to survey and clear unexploded ordnance in eastern Cambodia.

“U.S has supported humanitarian demining in Cambodia for over 20 years and is committed to addressing our war-time legacy. The new tender is a continuation of the commitment as it will further aid in the cleanup of the remnants of war. We are looking for the best national and international experts to help remove unexploded ordnance in eastern Cambodia”, stated William A. Heidt, U.S ambassador to Cambodia.

U.S Embassy in Cambodia sent an official letter to the Director General of Cambodia Mine Action Center (CMAC) Heng Ratana on November 15, to inform that the U.S would continue to provide assistance in the demining activities in Cambodia from January until February 2018.
