Siem Reap (FN), Dec. 13 - The International Committee of the ICC-Angkor, on Wednesday morning, set up the 29th technical meeting focusing on monitoring illegal construction operations in Angkor Archaeological Park.

The meeting was presided over by Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts and Chairman of the APSARA National Authority, with the co-chairs from France and Japan and other 300 participants.

“I would like to congratulate the efforts of the Apsara Authority and relevant institutions to prevent the spread of rampant illegal construction in Angkor,” said Anne Lemaistre, UNESCO Representative to Cambodia.

She added that the maintenance of the Angkor site is essential because it helps preserve the value of Angkor heritage, which includes the traditions, landscapes, cultures of the Angkor site.
