Phnom Penh (FN), March 9 – The government of Germany provides a grant of $45 million to Cambodia for the implementation of seven projects in the health sector, infrastructure, decentralization administrative reforms and others.

The signing ceremony was held this morning of March 9 at the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and CDC’s First Deputy President Keat Chon and German Ambassador to Cambodia Mr. Joachim Baron Marschall von Bieberstein representing the government of Germany.

The two sides have signed three agreements – Financial Cooperation Agreement 2015-2016, supporting rural infrastructure phase V and VI and health sector reform and equity fund; Technical Cooperation Agreement 2015-2016, focusing on decentralization and administrative reforms, social welfare phase III, poor family identification phase IV, basic economic development phase IV, and fund for specialists and researches; and 2015 Technical Agreement on the Implementation of the World Without Hunger Initiative.

Up until the end of 2015, the German Government has provided a total grant of approximately $500 million to Cambodia, according to Keat Chon.
