PHNOM PENH (FN), March 10 — A government official filed a legal complaint to Phnom Penh Municipal Court against the self-exiled leader of the Cambodian National Rescue Party for fabricating a document and posted it in the official’s name on his Face book page.

Som Soeurn, Minister attached to the Prime Minister, has lodged the legal complaint officially to the General Prosecutor Office of Phnom Penh Municipality Court against Sam Rainsy accusing the latter of forging a document alluded to him and posted it on his Facebook page and demanded 20 million Riels ($5,000) in damage.

The complaint by Som Soeurn reads: “On March 9, 2016, Sam Rainsy posted a malicious message on his Facebook page alluding that I had instructed my subordinates, civil servants and armed forces to set up fake accounts in view to generating artificial Likes to the Prime Minister’s Facebook page and at the same time he attached a comment that a large number of Likes on the premier’s page were the results of paying or hiring the poor or the unemployed to set up fake Facebook accounts out of which they could generate fake Likes to the premier’s Facebook page.”

Som Soeurn said that the act by Sam Rainsy had caused serious harm to the reputation of the national leader as well as his reputation and hence urged that the court takes appropriate actions of punishment and demanded 20 million Riels ($5,000) in damage.
