Phnom Penh (FN), March 17 – During a meeting with the First Vice President of the Federal Council of Russia’s Parliament Nicolay Fedorov at Peace Palace in the afternoon of March 17, 2016, Prime Minister Hun Sen requested Russia to encourage more Russian tourists to visit Cambodia and to set up direct flights between Russia and Cambodia. 


In that occasion, the premier thanked Russia for having assisted Cambodia in the past. Russia has helped Cambodia’s economy to recover and to develop human resources, said the premier.

On his part, Nicolay Fedorov hailed Prime Minister Hun Sen for his good leadership and win-win policy that have brought peace, stability, and development to the country. Nicolay has witnessed many major construction projects booming in Phnom Penh.

The visit of Nicolay Fedorov to Cambodia aims at strengthening friendship and cooperation between the two countries, and particularly boosting trade exchanges. As a former Minister of Agriculture, Nicolay said he would do his best to import agricultural products from Cambodia to Russia. He will also provide scholarships to Cambodian students to pursue higher education in Russia.
