MOSCOW, March 19 (Xinhua) -- A passenger Boeing-737 plane carrying 59 people on board flying from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to Rostov-on-Don in Russia's southwestern Rostov region, crashed at the city airport, Russian media reported on Saturday, citing an emergencies source.

"According to preliminary information, the Boeing-737 fell amid poor visibility conditions 50-100 meters left of the runway. The fate of the passengers and crew is being determined," the source told RIA Novosti.

The poor visibility caused by heavy rain could have been the likely cause of the crash, the source said, adding that according to preliminary information the plane was of the Dubai Aviation Corporation (Flydubai).
