Phnom Penh (FN), March 30 – In a signing ceremony this morning of March 30, 2016 under the chairmanship of First Deputy Director of Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) Keat Chhon and Rebecca Black, Director of USAID in Cambodia with the attendance of U.S Ambassador William A. Heidt, the U.S. international development agency, USAID, will provide $35 million to Cambodia for projects in the sectors of healthcare, education, agriculture, and environment.

According the U.S Embassy, the fund granted to Cambodia today is the first portion of a package of $137 million of a 3-year funding support to the Royal Government of Cambodia’s priorities in health, education, agriculture, and environment sectors.

This fund will be helping the National Development Strategy of the Royal Government of Cambodia with improvement of educational quality and student’s reading, healthcare, nutrition for mothers and children, expanding markets and agricultural productivity, and Cambodia’s natural resource preservation, the Embassy said.
