SEOUL, April 1 (Xinhua) — The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Friday fired off an unidentified projectile into eastern waters, Yonhap news agency reported citing the military.

The projectile, which was believed to be a ballistic missile, was launched at about 1 p.m. local time (0400 GMT) from the eastern region near the coast of Seondeok in South Hamgyeong province.

The military is analyzing what type of missile it was and how far it flew.

The launch came just three days after Pyongyang fired one round of its new 300-mm multiple rocket launcher.
