Phnom Penh (FN), July 21 - The Ministry of Tourism on Saturday issued a circular to inform the business owners, restaurants, cafés, karaoke, discos, stalls and all tours across Cambodia to suspend selling alcoholic beverages from 28-29 July 2018.

The Royal Government of Cambodia halts alcohol consumption during election and to avoid the deaths or injuries due to alcohols; and hoped that the election would proceed smoothly, freely, and fairly without any violence and threats.

Prime Minister Hun Sen said that the government put so much efforts for the safety and security of people during the electoral process; the nation’s priority is to ensure a free and fair election.

The July's election will be held for only one day on 29 July 2018. All the 20 political parties will campaign for 21 days from 7-27 July 2018.
