Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 1 - The National Election Committee (NEC) deputy secretary-general Som Sorida told Fresh News on Wednesday afternoon that despite 2,525 complaints concerning the 6th National Assembly Election process on 29 July 2018 filed to the NEC, no complaints affect the provisional and official election results.

NEC received 2,525 complaints in total from three political parties, including League for Democracy Party (LDP), Cambodian People's Party (CPP), and Grassroots Democracy Party (GDP).

LDP alone submitted 2,520 complaints, while the CPP and GDP had only five complaints combined.

"All complaints pointed at the same issue, so issuing one statement is enough; therefore, it won’t affect the the official result," deputy secretary said.

The 6th National Assembly election was held smooth, non-violent, and secure unlike the 2013 election.

The provisional result of the sixth National Assembly members election will be announced on 11 August 2018, and the official result 15 August.
