Phnom Penh (FN), August 6 - Expressing concern over health of athletes, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen reminded sports federations to consider mechanism for weight loss for Cambodian athletes to ensure they are healthy.

His remark was made Monday morning receiving courtesy call on athletes, sportsmen, trainers and at Peace Palace Phnom Penh before departing to the 18th Asian Games in Indonesia.

The premier recommended the coaches and athletes to find other ways to lose weight instead of using weight loss products, which is harmful to health, most importantly to avoid using substances to boost energy.

"Even without receiving any medal, we are still a good athlete; but if it comes by using illegal substances, it is not a national pride," he underlined.

In fact, over the past 20 years, Prime Minister Hun Sen has been working hard to promote Cambodia's sport sector to international stage and to capacitate Cambodian athletes to engage in local and international athletic competitions.
