Phnom Penh (FN), August 15 - Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), thanked Cambodian people for voting for the CPP to win all 125 seats in the National Assembly following the announcement of the official result of Cambodian general election 2018 by the National Election Committee (NEC).

"Thank you all compatriots throughout the country, who have decided to vote in the 6th mandate National Assembly members election (2018-2023) on 29 July 2018 with 6,956,900 voters, an equivalent to 83.02%," the premier wrote.

"Thank you, all CPP members throughout the country, especially who actively participated in the election campaign and went to vote for CPP. The NEC announced that the CPP won 125 seats from the 25 constituencies. This clearly indicates that people have given trust to the right leadership of the CPP, and that they have decided to choose peace, development and democracy for the whole country," he added.

Prime Minister Hun Sen also thanked the other 19 political parties who competed in a free, fair, and democratic election and he announced that the new government for the 6th mandate will be established in the first week of September.

In the official results of July's elections, the NEC said the CPP won 4,889,113 votes of the total 6,362,241 valid votes.
