Phnom Penh (FN), August 17 – Lao Ambassador to Cambodia Brasith Sayasith congratulated the recent Cambodia's electoral process and said the election was held transparently, speaking in a courtesy call on premier Hun Sen at the Peace Palace on Friday.

The ambassador felt saddened to learn the suffering of Cambodian people affected by the collapse of dam in Laos.

He thanked the Cambodian government for the humanitarian aid for lao flood victims.

Over the past four years serving in Cambodia, ambassador has witnessed the rapid growth of the kingdom and the improved livelihoods of her people. He informed the premier that the trade worth between the two countries has increased in double size, from 10 millions to 24 millions in 2018.

The premier thanked the ambassador for his service in strengthening Cambodia-Laos relations and his participations in Cambodian electoral observation; he also asked Lao side to work harder to promote trade worth in response to economic potentials of both sides.

Prime Minister also shared his deepest condolences to the loss of lives of flood victims in Laos.
