Phnom Penh (FN), August 23 – King Norodom Sihamoni granted an amnesty to release president of the Khmer Power Party Sourn Serey Ratha tonight, according to the Royal decree dated on Thursday, proposed by premier Hun Sen.

Ratha was sentenced to five years imprisonment for insulting country’s military leaders.

Sourn was detained on 13 August 2017, charged with public incitement and demotivating military spirit under criminal code.

“The result of the war with Laos is the same as the war with Thailand! Only Khmer low-ranking soldiers died, whereas, the leaders collect merit and stay safely away from the fighting,” Ratha wrote on Facebook.
