Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 25 – Cambodian parliamentarian Cheam Channy passed away on Thursday due to serious illness, according to Kem Sokha’s cabinet chief Muth Chantha earlier today on Facebook.

Cheam Channy was a Cambodian politician and Member of Parliament for the opposition Sam Rainsy Party (SRP), representing Battambang Province in the 1998 National Elections. Later, he was elected to represent Kompong Cham constituency in 2003 for the dissolved Cambodian National Rescue Party.
