Phnom Penh (FN), May 30 – Cambodia Prime Minister Hun Sen proposed Macau to import more agricultural products from Cambodia especially rice and suggested that Macau become a processing storehouse for Cambodian rice for export to international markets and to a number of countries that receive food supply from China.

Prime Minister Hun Sen made his request to Mr. Ho Hu Wah, former president of Macau Special Administrative Region and China Sub-Political Assembly, during the latter’s courtesy visit and a discussion meeting at the National Assembly on May 30, 2016.

In the meeting Mr. Ho Hu Wah told the premier the presence of his delegation in Cambodia was for the purpose of courtesy call in response to a visit made by the premier to Macau in October 2015 and also to attend workshops and to explore about potential investment opportunities with over 100 young entrepreneurs from Macau, as suggested by the premier.

Prime Minister Hun Sen warmly welcomed the visit by Mr. Ho Hu Wah and his delegation and encouraged Macau investors to come and find out about investment opportunities in Cambodia since the country has a lot of potentials such as tourism and agriculture.

Mr. Ho Hu Wah expressed strong satisfaction with what has been brought up by the premier and said he would take the proposals to Macau for discussions.
