Phnom Penh (FN), June 13 – With pains and sorrow, Prime Minister Hun Sen once again slammed leaders and members of the opposition party for fabricating a story that his eldest son was the son of his wife and the Vietnamese Revolutionary Leader Lê Đức Thọ.

Prime Minister Hun Sen reiterated his harsh reaction after people known as active supporters of the Cambodian National Rescue Party overseas have made up a story that his eldest son Hun Manet was that son of his wife, Samdech Bun Rany, and former Vietnamese leader Lê Đức Thọ and urged that DNA test be conducted for the purpose of proving it.

The premier said that this was a serious insult to his wife, his son, and himself. He raised a question for UN’s Secretary Ban Ki-moon and other world leaders whether the accusation is the exercise of the right of expression or defamation?

“I would like to send the message out to the UN Secretary General, to all the world leaders and Embassy representatives that if someone accused your spouse of being a sex-worker, and that your child is not yours, do you consider it as the exercise of freedom of expression or defamation with felony? I will not tolerate it; I strongly insist it is a criminal act”, stated the premier during the graduation ceremony of students of Royal University of Phnom Penh this morning of June 13, 2016.
