PHNOM PENH (FN), September, 7 – The Ministry of Interior issued a letter today condemning the explosion that occurred last night on street 163, Beung Keng Kang III district, Khann Chamkar Morn, Phnom Penh and has called on the public to collaborate with the authorities to identify the perpetrators so that they will be held accountable to their criminal acts.

According the latest update information from the Interior Ministry made available to Fresh News earlier, four people were injured and four vehicles were damaged by the blast.

A bomb blast occurred last night, September 6, 2016, at around 7:40 pm on street 163, Beung Keng Kang III district, Khann Chamkar Morn, injuring four people and damaging four vehicles. According to a video camera, the perpetrators were traveling on motorbikes and then dropped a grenade onto the ground that exploded when a car drove by.

The Interior Ministry considers that the explosion was an intentional plan with a view to misleading national and international public opinion on the safety and security in the country. The Ministry added in the letter that a serious and thorough investigation is going on for the perpetrators to be brought to justice. The Ministry also at the same time called for public collaboration that will lead to identifying the perpetrators.
