TOKYO, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- Nineteen people have been injured in a bus-van collision Saturday afternoon in Japan's Yokohama, local media reported.

The van driver, a man in his 70s, sustained severe injuries, while the bus driver and 18 of the passengers were hurt.

The cause of the incident is still under investigation, local police said.

The incident happened only one day after an earlier accident in the city which killed a young boy and hurt 11 others as a pickup truck collided with two other vehicles and plowed into a group of elementary students.

Yokohama, lying south of Tokyo, is Japan's second largest city by population.
