PHNOM PENH, Nov. 9 (FN) -- Cambodia has exported 89,946 tons of milled rice to China in the first 10 months of 2016, a 7.6 percent rise from 83,577 tons over the same period last year, according to the latest report on Wednesday.

The report released by the Secretariat of One Window Service for Rice Export showed that China is the top buyer of Cambodian rice, followed by France and Poland.

According to the report, Cambodia has exported a total of 421,521 tons of milled rice to 59 countries and regions during the January-October period this year, up 3.3 percent over the same period last year.

Cambodia is an agrarian country with approximately 80 percent of the population being farmers. Last year, the Southeast Asian country produced over 9 million tons of paddy rice, according to figures of the Ministry of Agriculture.
