Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 5 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen condemned the launch of a ballistic missile over Japan by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).

“During his bilateral meeting with visiting Cuban prime minister Manuel Marrero Cruz, on 4 October 2022, the premier told his counterpart that he condemned the launch of a ballistic missile over Japan by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK),” according to the press release seen by Fresh News on Wednesday (Oct 5).

The premier said that the move by the DPRK was dangerous and constituted another violation of the United Nations Security Council Resolutions.

Samdech also presented his views regarding the war in Ukraine. While understanding the historical motives, the security concerns and the complexity of the issue, Samdech said that Cambodia disapproved the invasion of Ukraine and the annexation of regions from a sovereign country. Cambodia, as a small country, upholds the respect of sovereignty, territorial integrity and political independence of all UN member states and the United Nations Charter.

The two premiers also exchanged views on other regional and international issues and expressed their commitment to strengthen the two countries ties, friendship and cooperation on multiple areas, including education, health, culture, agriculture and trade and in international arena.
