Phnom Penh (FN), Feb 9 - Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia, Hidehisa Horinouchi has asked Chan Vathanaka to do his best in demonstrating his football talent and tactics to Japanese people.

A request was made when Vathanaka paid a courtesy visit Thursday morning at the Japan Embassy in Cambodia as requested by Mr. Horinouchi  before departing to Japan this Sunday.

Chan Vathanaka is a famous Cambodian footballer from Boeung Ket Angkor Club. He will be joining the Japanese football club, Fujieda MYFC.

The Japanese Ambassador expressed gratitude toward Chan Vathanaka for bringing pride to Cambodia. He advised Chan Vathanaka to create good relationships with other foreign players and work together to win every match.

“The presence of Chan Vathanaka in Japan for the year will impress the world with development of football and diplomatic ties between the two countries,” said Hidehisa Horinouchi.

“To play abroad is really difficult, and I have to strive hard for the club and the team,” said Chan Vathanaka.

Vathanaka is on a one year closed-loan contract with Fujieda MYFC and will be paid $10,000 per month, a condominium, transportation, and a personal interpreter.
