Phnom Penh (FN), Feb 27 – Prime Minister Hun Sen presided over celebrations honoring National Clean City Day on Monday.  

The PM also gave out the Green Tourism awards to those businesses which have excellent hospitality and services.

“The current peace, political stability, order, and infrastructure along with steady growth in all sectors, and significant growth in recent years should be continued with full efforts to gain further progress with the aim to improve people's lives and for future generations,” stated the premier.

“Environmental protection and maintaining peace are important as they help to mitigate climate change and attract tourists. Visitors will not want to see pollution, so we need to create a green environment by planting natural vegetation and livestock supplies in various restaurants and hotel,” he added.

The prime minister advised that there should be a joint fight against illicit cross-border trafficking.

Prime Minister Hun Sen asked to create  proper parking in the city and new laws  to reduce traffic congestion.

The premier hopes that all parties will continue to work together to support sponsors and perform all the campaigns that have been put forward by the Government to support the movement of the Clean City.
