Phnom Penh (FN), Feb 28 - Cambodia's Senate, on Tuesday, approved a constitutional amendment regarding the dissolution of political parties with a vote of 44 senators.

The meeting was presided over by Say Chhum, president of the senate together with 44 other senators, but no members representing the CNRP were present.

The proposed amendment to the law, which was set forth by Prime Minister Hun Sen, was approved earlier by the National Assembly on Feb.20.

Article 18 contends that candidates who commit serious crimes cannot stand for President or Vice President of any political party.
