Phnom Penh (FN), March 5 - Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen has acknowledged that he took part in newly leaked conversation with CNRP president Kem Sokha.

"I acknowledge that it is my real voice. I have had many conversations with H.E. Kem Sokha via Whatsapp. I am surprised that this account was hacked and shared by an unidentified individual known as "Seyha" on Facebook. The equipment used to carry out such activity is employed by the U.S., Israel, and Germany and has been used to listen to the conversations of German and European leaders," he said.

The premier added that "some brothers and sisters were suspicious as to the authenticity of my voice, but I ask that that content be considered instead. Who else would be able to speak in such a general political context? Even the deputy prime minister does not have the right and nor the capacity to say as much. Do not accuse me of buying them ( the CNRP), their heads can not be cut and bought, but if they want to consult with me, sure, I can give advice and whether or not it is followed is his right. Some accuse me of using deceit- ask yourself this: who was the one asking for guidance? Then ask yourself who was the one who insulted my wife and son by insinuating they are the wife and son of a Vietnamese leader? Was that not a trick or cheap?"

Hun Sen said that as a human being, one should not falsely accuse someone's wife, daughter, mother or niece, of being a prostitute or not a virgin. He said "you cannot pretend to ignore it."

The more than 20-minute confidential conversations between Prime Minister Hun Sen and Kem Sokha, on Sept. 25, 2016 and that was leaked on Facebook on March 4 revealed the content that the premier told Kem Sokha to clap Sam Rainsy's face by some wording to be posted on Kem Sokha's Facebook, allowing Kem Sokha to register for the election, considering on a case that may request a pardon for Kem Sokha, and on the unacceptable words of insult that alleging Hun Sen's wife and his son as wife and son of a Vietnamese leader.

The premier's confirmation was made public on Sunday to Fresh News, then to Radio Free Asia.
