Phnom Penh (FN), Sep. 21 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Manet and a high-level delegation departed Phnom Penh to attend the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) from 21-25 September 2023 in New York.

“This year’s central theme is “Rebuilding Trust and Reigniting Global Solidarity: Accelerating Action on the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals Towards Peace, Prosperity, Progress and Sustainability for all,” according to Foreign Ministry’s press release dated 15 September 2023.

“Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet’s address to the UNGA will center on three key dimensions: the global context, Cambodia’s socio-economic progress, and Cambodia’s commitment to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Transformative Actions. Additionally, the prime minister will engage in bilateral meetings with the United Nations Secretary-General and various foreign dignitaries during his stay in New York.

On the sidelines of the said assembly, foreign minister Sok Chenda Sophea will participate in regional and international dialogues, including the 15th ASEAN- Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Foreign Ministers’ Meeting. The minister has also scheduled separate bilateral meetings with counterparts from other nations.”
