Phnom Penh (FN), April 28 - Prime Minister Hun Sen led a high delegation to the 30th ASEAN Summit and related meetings in the Philippines from 28-29 April 2017, according to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The theme for 2017 is "Partnering for Change, Engaging the World".

The priorities of the summit include: people-oriented and people-centered initiatives, peace and stability, maritime security and cooperation, inclusive and innovation-led growth, ASEAN resiliency and ASEAN as model of regionalism, according to the statement.

The agenda will address issues related to the South China Sea, including the Code of Conduct, its Declaration, and its principles.

On the 50th anniversary of its inception, the ASEAN community will focus on global economy and health, as well as the situations in the Middle East and Korean Peninsula, searching to find ways to further promote peace, security, and prosperity for the region and the world.

Foreign Affairs Minister Prak Sokhonn will attend the 15th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on ASEAN Political-Security Community Council and the 9th ASEAN Facilitating Council before the summit.

Cambodian dignitaries to accompany the premier include: the Minister of Education, Hang Choun Naron, the Minister of Commerce, Pan Sorasak, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prak Sokhonn.
