Phnom Penh (FN), May 2 - Prime Minister Hun Sen urged all the international and domestic journalists, and MCs on TV and radio to avoid reporting fake news that would provoke chaos in Cambodia.

The urge was made a day before the 16th Freedom of Global Press, which will be celebrated on May 3 at Ministry of Information and Hotel Raffles Le Royal.

"I urge all the media-related folks to have code of conduct and professionalism in reporting news; meanwhile, avoid reporting fake news and being biased that will provoke chaos, political instability, and war," stated the premier.

"You all play an important role in educating people about social ethics, culture, economics, environment, health, domestic violence, social violence, drug usage, and especially traffic accidents that are the government's priorities," he added.

The premier met 700 Cambodian journalists on Jan. 14, 2017, an effort to promote media sector in Cambodia.
