PHNOM PENH (FN), Jan. 14 — With a view to promoting commercial exchange between the two countries, Hungary pledged today to open $27 million of credit line through Hungarian Bank to facilitate business cooperation between the two countries.

At the signing ceremony of an agreement on investment protection held this morning after a meeting between Cambodian Foreign Minister Hor Namhong, and his Hungarian counterpart Peter Szijjarto, the latter said Hungary was interested in a number of areas namely agriculture, agro-industry, foodstuff, medicines, technology and engineering.

“We will try our utmost to boost business cooperation between the two countries: Cambodia-Hungary,” Szijjarto told reporters, explaining that Hungary was strongly optimistic about Cambodia’s economic growth of around 7 percent over the years and that was the reason why his country was looking for expanding investment and trade exchange with Cambodia.

Hor Namhong, said "After this agreement, there will be an increase in trade exchanges and I asked that they buy more milled-rice and garments from us and they completely accept the requests.”
