Phnom Penh (FN), May 18 – The Minister of Information, Khieu Kanharith, responded to the statements Ken Sokha made while  touring the U.S.

Kem Sokha, who is the president of the CNRP, told activists during his tour that Cambodia lacks modernized plumbing and sanitation.

The Minister of Information mocked Sokha on Thursday through social media.

“International economists predict solid economic growth in Cambodia, yet the president of the opposition party claimed that Cambodia is so poor that we barely have a pot to piss in,” the minister wrote on his Facebook.

“If this is true, I wonder if he has built one for the people,” he questioned.

Kem Sokha returned to Cambodia Tuesday after a 2-week visit to New York to raise funds and support for the party.

Earlier this month, Sokha spent two weeks in Australia and New Zealand.
