Sihanoukville (FN), May 26 - AirAsia has announced that direct flights between Sihanoukville, Cambodia and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, will begin operations August 9, 2017.

There will be 4 flights per week.

“Sihanoukville is an exciting destination with richly-endowed natural resources that have yet to be explored.

As the first leading air flight company in Malaysia, we want to bring Sihanoukville, which is the part of ASEAN, to the world,” said Spencer Lee, Chairman of AirAsiaBerhad.

“We intend to transform Sihanoukville’s beaches into a tourist destination with visitors from many places,” he added.

The Director of the Sihanoukville Department of Tourism, Tang Sochetkresna, welcomes the expansion and expects to greet many Malaysian visitors.

AirAsia’s current flights are from Kuala Lumpur to Phnom Penh, Bangkok to Phnom Penh, and from Bangkok to Siem Reap.
