Phnom Penh (FN), June 1 – Thy Sovantha, a former youth activist for Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP), announced she will join the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) with 100,000 of her supporters from 100 communes nationwide, in a letter addressed to Prime Minister Hun Sen, president of CPP.

“I learned the facts of the country, the peace and reform policies of the Cambodian People's Party under the leadership of the premier to promote people’s progress,” Thy
wrote.

“I regret the wrongdoings of my youth and of being influenced by the leaders of the opposition,” she said “I plead guilty and apologize to all CPP members”.

Sovantha also requested the premier provide opportunities for her to lead 100,000 supporters in solidarity for peace and to contribute to national development.
