SHIBERGHAN, Afghanistan, June 15 (Xinhua) -- As the rivalry has been widening between Taliban and the Islamic State (IS) group in Afghanistan, the former has captured five militants loyal to the later in the northern Jawzjan province with Shiberghan as its capital, provincial police chief Rahmatullah Turkistani said Thursday.

"A five-member delegation of IS group under Sayed Jalal was visiting Darzab district to organize its fighters when the Taliban militants on the way back captured them as captive on Monday night," Turkistani told Xinhua.

Neither Taliban nor IS group has made comments on the report.

Both the Taliban and IS fighters have been vying in Darzab district and adjoining areas to expand their footholds.
