Phnom Penh (FN), June 29 – The National Authority for Combating Drugs has released construction plans of a 20-hectare voluntary and community-based drug treatment complex.

The center will cost approximately $5 million, including administration buildings, a hospital, housing, and a drug detox building, and will be located in Keo Phos Commune, Steung Hav District, Preah Sihanouk Province, according to Kao Khun Dara, deputy director of the National Authority for Combating Drugs and Chairman of the Commission for Building Drug Addiction and Community Care Centers.

Dara added that construction of the center will begin next month.

The government is currently seeking assistance from international and domestic donors and other allies to help build the compound.
