Phnom Penh (FN), July 6 - Cambodia and Thailand had joined together to produce legal documents for Cambodian workers who had been working in Thailand directly without having to return to Cambodia, according to Heng Sour, spokesman of the Ministry of Labor.

"By sending a special delegation to meet with the Thai side, we received the positive results," he added.

The government urged Cambodian workers to not worry about returning to Cambodia to gather documents as the legitimate documents are compromised.

He reported that the Thai government will not punish employers who employed undocumented Cambodian workers, and the Thai government will not deport Cambodian workers who are already working in Thailand.

From July 24th, the Thai government will enlist migrant workers who do not have any documents. The Cambodian side will also launch a 100-day campaign to provide transportation letters to 160,000 Cambodians starting from August 1.
