Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 23 – At the invitation of Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni, Laotian President Thongloun Sisoulith and a high-level delegation arrived in Cambodia on Tuesday (Apr. 23) for a state visit from 23-24 April 2024.

During the visit, the president will be granted a royal audience by Cambodian king at the Royal Palace. He will meet separately with Cambodian President of the Senate Hun Sen, Cambodian President of the National Assembly Khuon Sudary, and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, according to the Foreign Ministry’s press release dated 19 April 2024.

The Lao president is expected to exchange views with Cambodian leaders on enhancing Cambodia-Laos cooperation; as well as regional and international issues of common interest.

The president of Laos will lay wreathes at the Independence Monument and the Royal Memorial Statue of the late King Father Norodom Sihanouk.

The state visit will be a significant milestone to further strengthen and promote excellent relations, good neighbourliness, fraternal ties and solidarity as well as the Comprehensive and Long-Lasting Strategic Partnership for the common prosperity of the two countries.
