Phnom Penh (FN), July 13 - Eva Nguyen-Binh, a Vietnamese-French woman, has assumed the position of French Ambassador to Cambodia.

Eva Nguyen-Binh arrived and met with His Majesty on Tuesday.

She also met with Prak Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Eva Nguyen-Binh was originally named Nguyen Binh Thanh Huong, having a Vietnamese father and a French mother. Her spouse, Jean-Noël Poirier, is a French ambassador to Vietnam.

Eva previous experience includes diplomacy in India and Portugal.

She is a consultant in cooperation and cultural activities of the French Embassy in Vietnam, and she is the President of the French Institute in Hanoi.

Eva Nguyen-Binh obtained a diploma at Science Po, a popular French political school, and studied Foreign Affairs at Georgetown University.

In 1994, she worked for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and is proficient in a broad range of Southeast Asian affairs.

Eva Nguyen-Binh is the first female French ambassador to Cambodia.

She hopes to strengthen Cambodia-France ties and bring new achievements.
