Phnom Penh (FN), July 25 - The United Nations ranked Cambodia as the first in ASEAN and the second in Asia for sending female officers to UN mission abroad, according to General Sem Sovanney, director-general of the National Center for Peacekeeping Forces, Mine, and ERW Clearance.

"Cambodia was the 10th place among 100 countries that send female soldiers to UN mission," said General Sem.

"We are the first in ASEAN and second in Asia following South Korea," he added.

According to the 2017 report, Cambodia has sent 816 soldiers, 56 are female, to South Sudan, Sudan, Lebanon, Central Africa, and Mali.
