Phnom Penh (FN), July 26 – Deputy Prime Minister Hor Namhong has asked France to increase scholarship quotas for Cambodian students and to further promote Cambodia’s economy through French investment and tourism.

He made the request during a meeting with Eva Nguyen Binh, the new French Ambassador to Cambodia, at the office of the Council of Ministers on Wednesday.

The French Government and its partners offer, on average, 100 scholarships to Cambodian students to study in France and other French-speaking countries, according to Ouk Sok Kan, personal secretary to DPM.

375 Cambodian students have received scholarships to study in France since 2012.
