Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 6 – Despite a note of caution made by the opposition leader to his party members not to be engaged in demonstration against Prime Minister Hun Sen when the premier will be on a visit to the United States of America, the plan has actually been already prepared anyway by CNRP senior officials, said the second son of Prime Minister Hun Sen.

Maj. Gen. Hun Manith, director of the Defense Ministry’s military intelligence unit, said on Feb.6 that Cambodian National Rescue Party’s Sam Rainsy is currently in the U.S. and so he must be in full knowledge of the plan for demonstration against the premier during the Special U.S-ASEAN Summit in mid Feb. and that Rainsy’s warning message was just a hoax and a trick.

Gen. Manith also stated that recently there was a leaked-record of group conversation regarding the plan for demonstration, revealing that though the leader and senior officials of CNRP announced that they would not be involved in the demonstration, the arrangements have already been made anyway.

Just recently an online-communication network has been set up and was detected by our intelligence. It is out of that, we learn about the CNRP’s actual plan, and because CNRP knew that their plan had been detected by our intelligence, they try to pretend that they would not be involved and that only non-party supporters will be holding the planed demonstration,” said Gen. Manith.

Meanwhile, an opposition active member who asked not to be identified told the press from the U.S. on Feb. 6, 2016 that some opposition’s party members in the U.S. are just well prepared for the demonstration.

In September last year, the CRNP leader also claimed that his party members were not involved in demonstration when the premier was attending the UN General Assembly in New York. However, later on, there was a leaked document on the party’s support to the demonstration.

President of Cambodia-America Alliance, Touch Vibol, a person with casual contact with CNRP, and claims to take lead of the demonstration against the premier has just recently announced that there would be approximately 300 to 500 people participating in the demonstration on Feb. 15, 2016.
