YANGON, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- A total of 163 civilians were killed with 91 still missing in Myanmar's northern Rakhine state since the earliest terrorist attack in October last year, according to the compiled death toll released by the authorities late Tuesday.

Of them, 79 people including villagers, civil servants and security forces were killed with 37 missing during the period from Oct. 9 last year to Aug. 24 this year, while 84 people including Hindus, ethnic Rakhine, Daingnet and Mro villagers, civil servants and security forces were killed with 54 still missing during the period of renewed attacks by the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) extremist terrorists from Aug. 25 to Sept. 26 this year.

Data collection teams started conducting ground survey in last weekend to determine the loss and damage from the terrorist attacks in the northern state, said U Ye Htut, Deputy Commissioner of Maungtaw District General Administration Department.

Meanwhile, 45 dead bodies of Hindu villagers out of 93 missing were unearthed in a mass grave in Yebawkya village in Maungtaw, Myanmar's northern Rakhine state, according to the government's Information Committee.
