Phnom Penh (FN), September 27 - Svay Rieng governor, Men Vibol, confirmed that two US chemical bombs found in Svay Rieng province are threatening the citizens, students, and monks living nearby, causing different reactions such as breathing difficulty, itching, and rashes on the skin.

According to his letter to Tea Banh, Deputy Prime Minister, on Wednesday, Svay Rieng provincial governor has earnestly appeal to the minister to send authorities to launch the operation as soon as possible.

“The two bomb threats and fears citizens, students and monks living nearby, causing various reaction, such as breathing difficulty and rashes on their skin. On behalf of the provincial administration, I would like to request the minister to send officials to remove the two chemical bombs from the area”, stated Men Vibol.

PM Hun Sen asked US Ambassador to Cambodia, William A. Heidt to visit two US chemical weapons exploration sites in Svay Rieng province and asked the US to consider the problem of the remaining bombs during the war, which weighs nearly 3 million tons, not just about collecting US debt and soldiers’ remains.
