Kandal (FN), October 29 – Prak Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, said that Cambodia has requested the United Nations to help send experts to Cambodia for U.S bombs dropped onto this country since the Indochina war.

The minister revealed the decision during his presentation on Cambodia’s political situation in Kandal Province, on Sunday morning.

Prime Minister Hun Sen reacted strongly on October 22, to the U.S embassy’s statement released on October 20, claiming that its chemical bombs in Svay Rieng province were tear gas.

U.S dropped approximately 2.8 million tons of bombs around Koki areas during the 1960s and 1970s.

Cambodian Mine Action Center has discovered 15 chemical bombs, claiming they are harmful and cause birth defects.
