Phnom Penh (FN), October 31 - Cambodian Nationality Party (CNP) issued a statement on Tuesday afternoon requesting the Supreme Court to dissolve CNRP as soon as possible to maintain political stability for Cambodian society and announcing the support for the detention of Kem Sokha for treason.
"After seeing the CNRP's betrayal, CNP supports the action taken by the Royal Government of Cambodia to detain Kem Sokha. CNP announced the support for CNRP’s dissolution as it has destroyed the nation”, stated in CNP’s statement.
The hearing of Kem Sokha’s appeal sets on November 16, 2017 at 8 am, according to an invitation signed by Dith Munty, President of the Council for Judiciary Reform, dated Monday.
Cambodia's Supreme Court decided on Tuesday to uphold the lower court's decision, to detain Kem Sokha, president of the opposition party of treason.
