Phnom Penh (FN), November 8 - After competed in the 2017 World Rice Conference from November 6 - 7, 2017, Cambodia was ranked second after for having the best rice in the world.

The competition was conducted in Macau, China where taken part by Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, United States and Pakistan.

According to Mol Sarith, Secretary General of the Cambodian Rice Union, Thailand won first place two years straight in 2016 and 2017, while Cambodia had won three years straight in the earlier years.

Cambodia brought two kinds of rice to the competition - Premium Fragrant Rice and Fragrant Rice.
