ANKARA, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- Turkish police have detained 101 suspected Islamic State group militants in capital Ankara early Thursday.

According to local media Daily Sabah, the counter terror operation was carried out by Ankara Public Prosecutor's office with 1,500 policemen, and issued detention warrants for 245 suspects.

Police reportedly carried out raids at 240 different addresses in Ankara and confiscated digital and other materials belonging to the IS group.

Moreover, Turkish police launched anti-IS operations in 25 provinces across Turkey between October 22 and November 1, detained 283 IS militants and seized 66 improvised explosive devices and some other weapons.

Turkey has suffered several deadly attacks that killed more than 300 people since 2015, and government blames IS as plotter.

According to Turkish Justice Ministry, at least 780 people, including 350 foreigners, remain in detention, some of whom have been convicted, for suspected links to the IS group.
